Gopher members Jeff Long (left) and George Felix (right) journeyed to KOSH this year with a new member prospect, Greg Vitas.
This was the first time flying in for George and Greg. It was Jeff’s third time. The infamous VFR Approach procedures from RIPON were followed to the letter. We were directed to Runway 36 and given landing clearance “Cleared to land, 36R, red square…..” (Click on the video link below to see if Jeff made it. )

He had a beautiful day for flying but a check ride is still an anxious time. Derek did great and the best feeling of all was getting that tempory license at the end of the day.

Club member Paul Meehl recently ventured to Beatrice, NE (KBIE) on the morning of 08/21/2017 to witness the solar eclipse.

The weatherman threw a couple of curves at Paul, both on the way down and back, but with an instrument rating and a healthy respect for Mother Nature, he made it safely back and shared some photos that were taken by passenger/photographer Ken Boie.
