CFI George Felix has advised that congratulations are in order for Gopher Flying Club member John Shelerud.  John successfully completed his Private Pilot Checkride today with DPE Woody Minar @ KOEO.   It was less than one year ago during Airventure 2016 when two Gopher Club members (George Felix and Jeff Long) traveled out to the FISKE approach control facility and met John, who was working as an ATC Supervisor and expressed an interest in getting his pilot’s certificate.  Well done John!!

Congratulations to Sam Vandeputte on his first solo April 7th. His CFI Mark Jaeger said it was a beautiful sunny morning and Sam did 3 nice landings at KANE. Great accomplishment, way to go Sam!

Congratulations to Gopher’s newest private pilot, Alex Winkelman.  Alex passed his check ride today and according to his CFI Mark Jaeger did a great job on both the oral and flying portions of his practical test and worked very hard to achieve this goal. Now it’s time for some fun flying and on to additional ratings!
